Geoffrey Rockwell in Dublin: “Thinking-Through Big Data in the Humanities”

Geoffrey Rockwell of the Text Mining the Novel project presented one of the keynotes at the Digital Cultures, Big Data and Society at University College Dublin, in Dublin Ireland on Friday, February 16th, 2018 .

In his keynote he talked about “Thinking-Through Big Data in the Humanities.” He argued that humanists can contribute to understanding the history of big data projects and ideas. We also have a responsibility to engage the ethical issues raised. This conference was hosted by the Irish Research Council funded Industrial Memories project that is looking at Ireland’s legacy of institutional child abuse.
