Book Was There Gets a Nod from the Economist

Book Was There by NovelTM principal investigator Andrew Piper has received mention in a feature essay on the future of the book in The Economist . Entitled “From Papyrus to Pixels,” the essay offers a brief history of reading and dispels certain doomsday assumptions that the rise of technology has meant demise for the book. Book Was There of course has much to add to this argument by eloquently illustrating that the history of reading can offer clues to its future and how physical media shapes the way in which we read.
